I know a lot of my friends have always wanted to make a difference in the world… they just never knew how.
I know that as soon as you see a powerful video or campaign movement, you want to do everything you can to help out the cause, but a week goes by and you’re more worried about some drama on Facebook or how your boyfriend/girlfriend isn’t texting you.
I’m here to tell you that you CAN make a difference, simply by just educating yourself and then spreading the message to your friends and family. Of course, not much can be done without commitment, so I challenge you to commit to #KONY2012 this year.
I challenge you to be a part of a movement that will end terrible crimes against humanity. These tragedies in Uganda have been going on for the last decade, but if any of it happened in the U.S. for just a DAY, no one would stand for it.
What if YOUR children were the ones being abducted into war? Please hear what the amazing people at Invisible Children have to say and rise up against injustice with me. (Their website is down for maintenance right now, but watch and spread the video for today!)
Let’s put Joseph Kony, the worst living criminal, in the spotlight. Make him famous! Email/call your local news teams, talk show hosts, radio dj’s… anyone who you think could spread the word to even more people and make this campaign HUGE. Even just reblogging this is going to make a big difference!! This has been years in the making- which is a shame that it had to take this long- BUT now that it’s here..
Let’s not wait any longer. Channel your enthusiasm that you have right now and TAKE ACTION. You really can make a difference, I promise.
One of my best friends, Monique Medina, and I will be hosting two photo shoots in our respective areas on SUNDAY March 18th. I will be setting up a station in Orange County, CA and she will do the same in Santa Barbara, CA. The locations are TBA but here’s the event info:

I miss my best friend Jessica very much. I had the pleasure of visiting her in Boston about 6 months ago… That seems like forever ago. I remember how devastated I was when she was moving back to the east coast.
… But I just KNOW we’re the forever kind of best friends. Not the kind that give each other friendship bracelets that eventually end up in the trash or buried in a box somewhere. I truly do love her.
I think this photograph is hilarious and I can’t remember why we did this. I know it was for school but I have no clue why she started to punch herself :P
I can’t wait to be her maid of honor at her wedding.
